ABOUT

It’s about meeting your needs.

You are coming here in search of help and guidance – not just a soundboard or a bobber head.

Therapy is a collaborative endeavor, and one approach does not fit all for therapy.

We draw from many approaches to tailor your therapy experience to you based on your values, the constellation of your symptoms, and your goals.

What type of therapist do you think will benefit you the most?

Integrative therapists can take a passive role, listening deeply, offering reflections, and giving you the space to share and feel heard while you unpack the contents of the deepest and less illuminated corners of your being.

We can hold the space, witness your process, and allow you to unload, unpack, and interpret.

A more active and directed approach also can be taken. This may include building coping skills, providing educated advice and feedback, expanding community resources, enhancing communication skill development, performing active trauma treatment, developing time and personal goal management, and teaching you practical strategies that you can use in your everyday life.

Within an integrative approach, you can expect to take a deep dive into your past, project into the future, and examine what you are doing now that is contributing to your status quo.

Our approach depends on you.

We will not ignore your background or the effects that your racial, ethnic, and cultural heritage play on your current situation.

A combination of approaches from cutting-edge developments in the field, including neuroscience-informed interventions, practical philosophy, cognitive behavioral therapy, couples and family therapy, trauma treatment, and multi-cultural competency will be used to help our clients find a better way forward.

It really depends on what the best approach is for your particular needs.

About Anaya

Anaya Morrison is a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor who practices from a relational, trauma-informed lens. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, and the lasting impact of trauma — especially when patterns feel difficult to shift despite insight. Many of her clients are thoughtful and self-aware. They understand their history, can name their patterns, and have spent years reflecting — yet still find themselves stuck in the same emotional or relational cycles. Others may not fully understand why they feel the way they do, but know something isn’t working and want to feel different.

Anaya’s work centers on helping clients move beyond intellectual understanding and toward real, felt change. Drawing from attachment theory, somatic awareness, and parts-based (IFS) work, she supports clients in understanding how early experiences, identity, and survival strategies continue to shape their emotional and relational lives. She understands symptoms not simply as problems to eliminate, but as signals that carry important information about a person’s history, unmet needs, and survival strategies. Therapy with Anaya is collaborative and experiential, rooted in respect for the survival strategies that once kept you safe — while creating space for new ways of living.

Anaya has trained in Indigenous Tools for Living (ITFL), a culturally rooted, experiential framework that emphasizes embodiment, storytelling, and meaning-making. This training continues to inform her commitment to culturally responsive and non-pathologizing care. As a Black woman therapist who is sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and affirming of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, Anaya creates spaces where clients can show up fully — without shrinking, code-switching, or defending their lived experience. She maintains a thoughtful interest in integrative and mind–body approaches to healing, including ethical psychedelic integration work.

About Maya

I believe the most essential gift of therapy is listening. When we feel truly heard, with openness, sincerity, and without judgement, we can find the space to access our own wisdom. Healing and growth is always possible, and can be heightened by communing and collaborating with someone who is fully present—in this case, a therapist. We are all human and imperfect beings, and I believe anyone who seeks therapy is incredibly courageous and brave. I have the utmost respect for anyone who comes into my session. Every person is different and no two stories are the same, nor are anyone’s path to growth. I am here to help you feel seen, heard, and understood, and I believe this process empowers us to gain insights from our own unique wisdom. Together, we will discover what made into the person you are, and help you fully realize the person you want to be. You can expect to come into my session and be listened to without judgement, and be treated with respect, warmth and compassion.

My own background is in music and the arts, and my Undergraduate degree is in Music Composition. Before coming to the work of therapy I worked as a professional full time musician for 20+ years. I am familiar with the challenges and struggles of a creative lifestyle, family, parenthood, marriage, and grieving the loss of a loved one. I am multilingual, and I am acquainted with the challenges of immigration, adjustment and cultural issues, and navigating the social safety net. I approach therapy through the person centered and psychodynamic modalities, but also incorporate concepts and techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, and others. Together through trust and respect, we will explore the story of who you are, and collaborate to help you discover and build what you seek in your life. Whether you want to address the past, present, or future, focus on specific issues or the larger meaning of things, I am here to help, to be present, and above all, to listen.
